The 2019 Regional Convention on the Recognition of Studies, Diplomas and Degrees in Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean entered into force with the accession of Uruguay

On 23 September 2022, Uruguay deposited with the Director-General its instrument of accession to the Regional Convention on the Recognition of Studies, Diplomas and Degrees in Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (Buenos Aires, 13 July 2019).

In accordance with the terms of its Article V.2, the aforementioned Convention will enter into force one month after the date on which four (4) UNESCO Member States of the Latin America and Caribbean Region have consented to be bound by the Convention.

The conditions for the entry into force provided for under this Article having been met on the above-mentioned date, the Convention entered into force on 23 October 2022, with respect to the following States: Cuba, Grenada, Peru and Uruguay.
