Director-General denounces killing of journalist Saber Al-Haidari in Yemen

The Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, has condemned the killing of reporter Saber Al-Haidari by an explosive device planted in his car in the city of Aden in the south of Yemen on 15 June.
I condemn the targeted killing of Saber Al-Haidari. Journalists bring a particularly vital contribution to the lives of people in conflict situations. They deserve to be protected, as do press freedom and freedom of information. I call for an investigation into this crime and the prosecution of those responsible.
