Since 2018, MEXT has supported the MoW Programme in promoting policy development and capacity building for the safeguarding of documentary heritage at risk, including through the disaster risk reduction approach as a strength of Japan.

UNESCO, as an intergovernmental body, calls on its Member States to participate in this Forum. We are honoured to have been joined in the past by ministers and ministerial representatives from Member States’ Permanent Delegations to UNESCO, National Commissions for UNESCO, National MoW Committees, memory institutions and experts from all regions of the world.
