Launch of the third phase of the Better Education for Africa's Rise (BEAR III) Project

The event will officially launch the third phase of the Better Education for Africa’s Rise (BEAR) Project, a joint initiative with the Republic of Korea. It will mark the start of the implementation of the project. 

The first day will take place from 9:00 to 18:00 (UTC+1), and the second day will consist of field visits from 9:00 to 16:00. 

The overarching objective of the BEAR III project is to increase the skills and employability of young people in Africa. After two successful phases in South African Community and Eastern Africa, the third phase of the project covers four countries in West Africa including Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. 

The launch will serve as a forum for discussions regarding TVET challenges and opportunities among representatives from the BEAR beneficiary countries, development partners organisations, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea, and UNESCO experts on TVET. It will also include a presentation of the overall plan of the project and modalities of its implementation.
