Category 2 Centres and Institutes serve as international or regional poles of expertise, providing technical assistance and services to UNESCO and its Member States. The Centres in culture contributes to UNESCO’s mandate in protecting all forms of heritage, promoting cultural diversity and developing cultural policies. The following Category 2 Centres in culture around the globe are actively supporting each Convention's enhanced implementations and actions. Each Centre advocates for importance of culture as a global public good, reinforces capacities and fosters cooperation and network.
