Sites culturels endommagés en Ukraine, confirmés par l’UNESCO

En date du 10 Avril 2024, l’UNESCO confirme que 351 sites ont été endommagés depuis le 24 février 2022 - 129 édifices religieux, 31 musées, 157 immeubles historiques et/ ou artistique, 19 monuments et 14 bibliothèques, 1 archive.

L’UNESCO effectue actuellement une évaluation préliminaire des dégâts infligés aux biens culturels* en recoupant les incidents signalés avec de multiples sources fiables. Ces données, qui sont régulièrement mises à jour, n’engagent pas l’Organisation. L’UNESCO développe également, en collaboration avec ses partenaires, un mécanisme d’évaluation indépendante des données sur la situation en Ukraine, incluant notamment l’analyse d’images satellites, conformément aux dispositions de la Convention de La Haye de 1954 pour la protection des biens culturels en cas de conflit armé.

*Les termes « biens culturels » font référence aux biens culturels immeubles tels que définis dans l’article premier de la Convention de La Haye de 1954, quels que soient leur origine, leur propriétaire ou statut d’inscription sur l’inventaire national, ainsi qu’aux locaux et monuments consacrés à la culture, y compris les monuments commémoratifs.
